SURE quantity reporting without delivery note search: how to do it with Biotaktix

By March 31, SURE‑certified biogas plants must report their biomass quantities for 2025. Those who have recorded their substrate deliveries digitally throughout the year are already prepared – Biotaktix provides exactly the data needed for this.

The quantities stored in the silo must be reported once a year

SURE quantity reporting without paperwork chaos

By March 31, SURE‑certified biogas plants must report their biomass quantities for 2025. Those who have recorded their substrate deliveries digitally throughout the year are already prepared – Biotaktix provides exactly the data needed for this.

What exactly must be reported

By 31 March 2026 all SURE system participants must record the sustainably used or supplied biomass quantities in the SURE database – the basis for the annual fee and for the reporting obligation to the EU Commission under RED III.

The following procedure describes the typical case: a biogas plant that is listed as a so‑called supersystem in SURE – i.e., first capture, gas production and power generation combined in one company. Those certified in a different configuration (e.g., pure raw gas production, biomethane injection, satellite CHP) report accordingly deviating.

Incoming goods (EU reporting): All substrate quantities that were received in 2025 as sustainable material directly from the producer – broken down by biomass type and country of origin, in tonnes fresh mass. This reporting is mandatory only for first‑recorders and collectors (applicability areas 2101, 2201, 2301).

Outgoing goods (annual fee): The sustainably generated electricity amount in kWh – broken down by biomass type and country of origin. The basis here are the electricity quantities reported in Nabisy. This reporting is mandatory for all SURE contract partners.

The labor‑intensive part is the incoming goods: How much corn silage, cattle slurry, cattle manure – and from which country – did the plant actually receive in 2025?

Where Biotaktix steps in

Biotaktix records every substrate delivery digitally: substrate type, supplier, date, weight. What previously ended up as a paper delivery note in a folder is now stored in a structured, analyzable way in the database.

Unlike a pure weighing software, Biotaktix also automatically records whether a delivery is sustainable or not. This is the decisive difference for quantity reporting: only sustainable quantities may be reported, and Biotaktix knows which those are.

For the SURE quantity reporting this means: the required totals – tonnes per biomass type, filtered for the calendar year 2025 – can be extracted directly from Biotaktix.

How to do it:

  1. Open the weighbridge ticket list
  2. Set period: “Year 2025”
  3. Filter by transaction type “Incoming”
  4. Filter by sustainability
  5. Group by article

No gathering, no recalculations, no estimates, no Excel sheets.

Exactly this data basis – who delivered how much of which substrate and when – is what plant operators need for quantity reporting, as well as for audits, sustainability evidence and internal analyses.

The deadline is approaching

By 31 March 2026 the reports must be entered in the SURE database.

Attention!

Until the deadline, erroneous entries can still be deleted and replaced with correct ones – as long as the report has not yet been finalized via “Save”. After the final save, no changes are possible.

Further information on the SURE quantity reporting – including instructions and FAQ – is provided by the Biogas Association e.V. on its website.
