What exactly is connected to my scale?
The gateway is connected directly to the weighing electronics of your vehicle scale – either via network (Ethernet / TCP or UDP) on modern terminals or via RS232 (serial) on older devices. No modification of the scale itself is required; the gateway is simply attached to the existing interface of the terminal.
How does the installation work?
Commissioning is usually straightforward. The gateway is connected on site to the weighing terminal and then configured remotely by us – a technician on site is not required in most cases. After setup, the gateway automatically transmits the weighing data to Biotaktix.
How secure is the data transmission?
The data is transmitted encrypted. The gateway communicates exclusively with our servers; direct external access to the device or the local network at the scale location is not possible.
